Océane

            Océane is a clothing company using Neoprene material for their truly innovative product line. Predominantly recognized in the construction of wetsuits, Océane redefined the use of this widely versatile and comfortable material, creating a highly sophisticated, fashion-forward and comfortable product line of jackets, accessories, and bags made predominantly from Neoprene. Established in 2006 by Aurelien Bouche-Pillon in France, Aurelien brought his product across the Atlantic Ocean, to the city of Rochester, New York, where he sold his first Neoprene Jackets at various boutiques, thus entering the North American market to provide quality clothing to a diverse population.

            Ocèane will look to gain further impact in world of fashion by presenting its product line at world renowned trade shows in San Diego, Salt Lake City, and Las Vegas.

            Aurèlien Bouche-Pillon was born in the city of Montpellier in the region of Provence, located on the French Riviera. Son of a successful French Colonel, Aurelien attended the prestigious military academy, Aix en Provence, and then went on to serve his country in the French Navy. After completion of military services in France, Aurelien went on to pursue his passion for business, earning his business degree in Lyon. After finishing his education in Lyon, Aurelien moved to the elite city of Biarritz, France, located on the West Coast in between Spain and Bordeaux. His life passions brought him to live in this elite and geographically unique town where one can surf the forceful waves of the Atlantic Ocean as well as coast down the glorious Pyrenees Mountains by snowboard all in the same day. The experience of living in Biarritz for more than two years allowed Aurelien to find a good balance between the pursuit of his life passions for surfing, snowboarding, and enveloping a natural outdoor lifestyle, along with the everyday determination to further oneself in career and education.

            Realization of his natural talents to interact with clients led Aurelien to initiate a career in which he could integrate his military rigor, business savvy background and his personal passions, thus bringing his concept of everyday comfortable neoprene fashion into fruition. It was in Biarritz where the first product line was designed, developed, and made available to customers. Opportunities and pursuit of the American Dream enabled Aurelien to make his transition from France to the United States in 2007, where he has resided since.

            He came to SCORE last June for help with his business and in importing the clothing. He has worked with Howard Daly, Dick Arfman and Henry West in the Rochester SCORE chapter.

            Dick Arfman, for example, has helped Aurelien with the nuts and bolts of importing.
