The Willows Company
Jeff Nidetz started his market research business, The Willows Company, in September 2004. As Director of Market Research for a major local medical organization, and a Graduate of Rochester’s Simon School of Business with majors in Computer Information Systems and Marketing, Jeff knew how to conduct Market Research. However, he needed assistance in the process of starting his own business. While researching possible sources of assistance, Jeff discovered the SCORE website and made an appointment for desk counseling.
That appointment led to a relationship with SCORE counselor, Julian Yudelson, who counseled Jeff through the development of his business plan, and most importantly, helped him develop a specific marketing plan to generate customers for the new business.
Jeff’s primary focus was going to be market research for small businesses. The SCORE counselor worked with him to develop his business identity and web site
www.thewillowscompany.com, and a specific plan to build awareness of the business on a very limited advertising budget. SCORE was also able to refer other small business clients who needed market research to Jeff and The Willows Company.
As the business developed, Jeff has created two distinct, but related product lines. The first is traditional market research for small businesses. He conducts both quantitative research through surveys to estimate market potential and customer satisfaction and qualitative research, such as focus groups, for new products or more general aspects of customer understanding.
The second product grew out of his experience with some of his small business clients. In the process of defining key marketing issues with them, Jeff determined that they also needed help in articulating and writing a business plan. By using his market research skills, he adds more extensive data to the business plan, particularly in the areas of defining the market and identifying the competition.
By offering both market research and business plan development services to his clients, Jeff Nidetz provides a complete set of business planning and market analysis tools, that are essential to the successful operation of any business.
