Marketing on the Internet

On Wednesday, October 19th, 2005, SCORE and the US Small Business Administration will present a workshop entitled Marketing on the Internet at the Federal Building in Conference Room B0340, 100 State St., Rochester, NY from 8:45 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

The program includes information on Establishing an Effective Online Presence, Search Engine Optimization, Other Online Marketing Tools and Measuring Online Effectiveness.  The presenter will be Mary Anne Shew, President, Shew Tech Associates.

Operating a Small Business

On Tuesday evenings, Sept. 27, Oct. 4th, Oct. 11th, Oct. 18th and Oct. 25th, 2005,
SCORE Chapter 23, the US Small Business Administration and Greece Central School District Community Education will present a course, Operating a Small Business, at Olympia High School, 1139 Maiden Lane, Greece, NY from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.

The series will address business planning, obtaining funds, operations, marketing, accounting, banking and legal - lots of practical applications and opportunities for discussion.

SCORE Announces New Chapter Chair

SCORE Chapter 23 of Rochester, NY, announces that William E. Cameron Jr. has been elected Chapter Chair effective October, 2005. Bill Cameron lives in Webster, NY, and served in the US Navy as an officer aboard a nuclear ballistic missile submarine. After his military service he earned an MBA at the University of Virginia and subsequently joined the Eastman Kodak Company and worked there for 31 years. During his tenure at Kodak he had a number of financial management positions including an assignment in Europe for 4 years.

Bill succeeds Matt Dennee who served two terms as chapter chair.
SCORE is a national volunteer organization of experienced business professionals who offer free, confidential counseling and low cost educational programs to assist new and existing small business owners.
