SCORE Workshop

Marketing on the Internet

Wednesday, October 13, 2010

8:45 am – 4:00 pm

The Results - Driven Web Site

Web sites are often seen as an electronic brochure. Instead, business owners can easily make their sites work as hard for their businesses as they do. For web sites still in the planning stage, this session will help prevent common mistakes and launch a smart site right from the start.

This session will cover basics on choosing a domain name and hosting service, basic business site organization, keyword definition, marketing goals, site content, options for creating a site, etc.

Marketing on the Internet

Some internet marketing advice has stood the test of time since the internet became a business tool in 1994.  Some marketing advice is now outdated and should be ignored. This session will update business owners what remains a great strategy and what to ignore when it comes to positioning their site in search results and other aspects of internet marketing.

This class covers coordination of online and offline marketing, how search engines work, what SEO is, how search engines evaluate sites, the various tools for marketing on the internet, measuring marketing effectiveness and looking at site stats.

Participants in this class either MUST have taken a prior “Marketing on the Internet” class from me or have taken the above class to understand the basic concepts of domain names, web site hosting, web site content and what keywords are.

Presented by Mary Anne Shew, President of Business Vitality, LLC
